Q. Why is The Dry Brush so good?
A. Dry brushing is a simple ayerverdic practice with very powerful benefits. It stimulates the body’s lymphatic system, improves skin texture and supports overall health, as well as superior exfoliation that you just can’t get with products or scrubs. It brushes away dead skin cells revealing fresh smooth skin underneath, use for a minute or two every morning to reveal incredibly soft, radiant skin. The benefits are astonishing: It boosts circulation and lymphatic drainage by stimulating blood flow, helping your body eliminate toxins and reduce puffiness. It’s invigorating and energising first thing in the morning and a great ritual to start the day on a good note. It encourages cell turnover improving skin tone and over time it can improve skin texture, reduce cellulite and ingrowing hairs. And with regular use dry brushing will leave you with glowing smooth and soft skin. It is great for all skin types, particularly dry, but if you suffer from cracked skin, eczema or other skin conditions on your body please look at my specific Eczema page and follow that regimen to heal your skin for good before starting to dry brush. I swear by natural ingredients but there are wildly different levels of quality which affect how well they work. Like all oils, not all body brushes are equal. You need the right bristle, denseness and firmness. This one is fantastic and you will notice a difference in a few days. Dry brushing is a small step that adds up. Smooth, glowing skin and a healthier body all from a few minutes a day.
Q. How do I use The Dry Brush?
A. Start at the feet and work your way up with firm strokes towards the heart. You can use it all over your body except your face. At the stomach brush in an anti-clockwise direction, brush each arm in an upward motion and finish with a shower to wash the dead skin cells away. Ideally moisturise your skin after with The Body Oil or The Body Butter. If you have rough, dry skin it may hurt the first few times but do persevere! Just go gently those first few times and within a few days it wont hurt. Be as firm as you can on the dry areas and gentle on areas where skin is sensitive. Use daily, or most mornings, before you shower to have the smoothest skin of your life.
